Q&As

Why Dominican Republic?

With excellent flight connections across the World, the Dominican Republic offers great get away destinations for those seeking some Winter sunshine.  On the one hand, to the East Punta Cana offers a number of all inclusive resorts and golf courses for those looking to put their feet up and unwind for a week or so and likewise to the North, Playa Dorada also offers the same.  If you look beyond the all inclusives there are an abundance of areas (Sosua, Las Terrenas, Bavaro, Cabarete and so forth) that cater more towards those looking for inexpensive short breaks or longer seasonal stays.  In these areas one finds the majority of the ex-pat communities that to a certain extent rely on the holiday travel industry for inexpensive and speedy connections to virtually any destination and in some cases for additional seasonal income.

High season runs from November to April (busiest December to March) and early bookings are recommended to renters due to a large influx of "snowbirds" who will rent apartments for the entire season and often years in advance.  With this in mind, many expats eventually choose to invest in a permanent home in the Dominican Republic.
